So what do you need? At our company, we provide you with a short list of all the ingredients you need to get started as quickly as possible:
- 400 g cooked chickpeas
- 2 garlic cloves, deseeded
- 2 tablespoons tahini (toasted sesame paste)
- Lemon or lime juice
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- A small bunch of coriander (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
- A generous splash of extra virgin olive oil
- Salt to taste
Hummus: Preparation
- First, cook the chickpeas in hot, salted water. Drain.
- Puree the chickpeas with a little water if the mixture is too thick.
- Mix the sesame paste with lemon juice, cumin and garlic.
- Continue mixing until you reach the desired consistency.
- Place on a plate and spread with a spoon.
- Sprinkle with paprika and chopped coriander and drizzle with a generous drizzle of Venta del Barón Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
- Serve with flatbread or toasted bread.
The consistency of hummus is a personal preference, so we recommend adjusting the thickness to your liking by adding a little more water and/or oil. Before serving, drizzle with extra virgin olive oil, sesame seeds, and sweet paprika. Other optional garnishes include olives or chopped parsley, depending on your taste.
